Keep priorities, aspirations of people in mind for preparing Budget: CM

Chief Minister Hemant Soren today reviewed the preparations for Budget 2024-25 with officials in the Jharkhand Ministry. In the upcoming budget, the Chief Minister has instructed officers to focus and give special attention to other major issues in the state including infrastructure, education, sports, industry, health, agriculture, electricity, water, roads, housing scheme and pension amount under social security, scholarship to students studying in schools and colleges. State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon was also present on this occasion.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren asked the officials to prepare a better budget for the financial year 2024-25 keeping in mind the priorities and aspirations of all the people of Jharkhand. The Chief Minister said that the budget should focus on public welfare and all-round development. The Chief Minister said that strengthening the rural economy in the state is the priority of the state government, continuous work is being done in this regard. Jharkhand is also progressing at a fast pace in many areas. Focusing on villages, agriculture, farmers and youth, work is being done to reach public welfare schemes to them.

Emphasize on increasing the provisions for employment and self-employment in the budget. The state government is making action plans with the aim of further strengthening them in the coming times. The Chief Minister said that the provisions should be included in the Budget 2024-25 with foresight. Poor welfare is the aim of our government. We are moving ahead with the thought that the benefits of state government schemes should reach the last person standing in the way of development.

The Chief Minister told the officials that the budget for the financial year 2024-25 includes promotion of small and cottage industries in the state, provision for MGNREGA, increasing employment and self-employment, promotion of sports activities, improvement in women's health, improvement in children's nutrition. Instructions were given to make special provisions in all other important areas. The Chief Minister said that there is a need to move forward with a new and positive thinking in the upcoming budget.

In the meeting, State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, Chief Secretary L. Khyangte, Development Commissioner Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary of the Finance Department Ajay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Planning And Secretary of Development Department Prashant Kumar and other officials were present.
